Massage involves manipulation of the body's soft tissues to relieve muscle tension, aches and pains, headaches, IBS and constipation and increases mobility. Massage is a natural way to encourage relaxation of the body and mind to give a general feeling of wellbeing. I am a trained aromatherapist and often use essential oils in my treatments.
First Visit
On the first visit you will be asked to complete a confidential consultation card and will be asked a number of questions concerning general well-being, injuries and medical conditions that I should know about. This will allow me to determine if there are any contra-indications (physical conditions that would prohibit or limit a massage treatment). Massage should not be carried on anyone suffering from fever or infectious diseases. Certain conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, undiagnosed pain, diabetes or trapped nerves will need to be checked with a doctor before a massage treatment can take place.
If you are taking any prescribed medication it is necessary to have permission from your Doctor before treatment can commence. The consultation will be used by me to decide which treatment will be most beneficial for you.
